You can honor where you come from & choose a life that finally feels like you.
Therapy to help you heal childhood trauma and build self-trust from the inside out.
Healing happens when you notice the patterns that no longer serve you — and finally give yourself permission to let them go.
Through this process of unlearning childhood survival strategies and developing new, adaptive ways of being, I help clients reconnect with their bodies, their inner child, and their creativity through trauma-informed therapy and art-based experiential work.
You can honor your childhood, your culture, and your story — and still choose to reclaim the parts of yourself that learned to stay small.
How Unresolved Childhood Trauma Can Show Up in Everyday Life
You don’t have to call it trauma for it to shape you. Carrying responsibilities that weren’t yours, or growing up without a safe space for your feelings, can continue to shape adult patterns—often making it difficult to prioritize your own wants and needs.
You might notice patterns like:
Avoidance or procrastination
Fear of failure
People-pleasing or over-giving
Overthinking
Perfectionism
Staying small
And you might feel:
Drained of energy and motivation
Anxious, restless, or on edge
Overwhelmed by decisions
Resentful from overextending
Helpless or self-critical
Shame or guilt for “not being enough”
These responses aren’t who you are — they’re signs that you’ve been using patterns like staying small, keeping the peace, and being the “good” or “easy” one to stay safe in a world that once made it hard to feel seen and accepted.
Meet Juhee
Hi, I’m Juhee — a licensed professional counselor and art therapist based in Austin, Texas.
I specialize in supporting individuals who want to break free from the patterns and beliefs that keep them stuck. If you’re here, I hope you know you’re not alone in how you’re feeling. Many people I work with have internalized beliefs like “I’m not enough” or “I’m too much,” and have mistaken childhood survival strategies or trauma responses for character flaws—thinking, “I’m too lazy,” or “I don’t have enough drive.”
For years, I believed these patterns were simply part of who I was. It wasn’t until I began my own journey of healing my childhood trauma that I learned those patterns were actually protective ways I had learned to stay safe.
That understanding changed everything.
Now, through trauma-informed therapy and art-based expressive therapy, I help clients do the same — to reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve had to quiet down, and to learn how to move through life with more self-trust and compassion.
My approach is gentle yet clear, allowing the work to unfold at a pace that feels most supportive to you. You’ll be held kindly and won’t be lost in the process. Together, we’ll reconnect with your authentic self, soften old patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you’re exploring new pathways to growth, you’re in the right place.
You’ve spent most of your life being the good one — the person who meets expectations, takes care of others first, and often puts your own needs aside.
On the outside, everyone sees you as calm and capable — but inside, you feel exhausted from holding it all together and unsure of what you truly want. You grew up in an environment where strength and independence were expected, but you also learned that speaking up for your needs or setting boundaries didn’t always go well — so you kept them quiet.
Now, you’re ready to understand where these patterns began, untangle them, and redirect your time, energy, and attention toward new ways of being that feel true to who you are today.

Therapy Helps You Come Home to Yourself
Healing isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about noticing the small shifts that help you feel freer and more present in your life. As you do this work, you may begin to notice changes such as:
“I don’t feel as stuck or overwhelmed all the time.”
“I can say no without so much guilt.”
“I feel lighter and more energized to do what I want”
“I’m starting to understand why I react the way I do.”
“I have more compassion for the younger version of me.”
“I feel less exhausted from overthinking everything.”
Therapy gives you room to slow down, see your patterns clearly, and begin responding to life from a place of calm instead of constant self-doubt.
Individual Therapy
There’s a part of you that’s been quietly calling for your attention — the part that’s tired of rushing, performing, and feeling obligated to meet expectations before tending to yourself.
In our sessions, we’ll slow down and explore why familiar patterns like people-pleasing, overthinking, and staying small keep showing up. Together, we’ll uncover where they began and gently shift you from self-doubt into a deeper sense of trust, clarity, and calm within yourself.
Available for in-person therapy in Austin, Texas and virtual therapy throughout Texas and Illinois.
Inner Mothering Group
Inner mothering means becoming the mother you needed — for yourself.
Not by blaming our mothers, but by reconnecting with your true self and reclaiming the desires, needs, and trust that were once silenced.
This 6-week small group experience is for women who are ready to begin healing the mother wound and cultivate a more nurturing, empowered relationship with themselves. Through reflective discussion and creative art therapy, you’ll deepen your connection with your inner mother — the intuitive, steady part of you that knows how to guide and care for you. Available in-person in Austin, Texas and virtually throughout Texas and Illinois.

When You’re Ready to Start Feeling “Enough”
You may not have called it trauma before — but the patterns, beliefs, and self-doubt you’re carrying often have roots in early childhood experiences. Healing childhood trauma means understanding how those early survival strategies shaped the way you show up today… and realizing you’re allowed to choose a different way of living now.
You can unlearn staying small, rebuild trust in yourself, and create a life that feels clear, grounded, and genuinely yours. In our work together, we’ll look closely at the recurring patterns that no longer serve you and gently make room for meaningful, lasting change.
